SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Revelers’ plans could very well see them on the road for New Year’s Eve. And if they’re not doing so safely, law enforcement might see them, too.
“For the holiday, we scheduled extra officers that are specifically working intoxicated or impaired driving,” Sgt. Joel Dalton with the Sioux Falls Police Department said Wednesday.

“Usually during holidays, times like this, we usually have extra people out just for, to make the roads more safe ’cause we know there’s more people out there driving, especially during New Year’s,” Trooper Trent Knuppe with the South Dakota Highway Patrol said Wednesday. “Big drinking holiday, right. We want to get out there, enforce the rules, make sure everyone’s being safe.”
As Knuppe points out, leaving your car at home is always an option…
