2025 Recap: Sioux Falls business news

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – When it comes to business and development in South Dakota’s largest city, 2025 saw quite a bit of progress.

The latest building permit numbers for Sioux Falls show 2025 ending on a strong note for development. Over $1.2 billion worth of permits were issued, which is higher than the last two years. One of the biggest projects in the city is the expanded tower for women and children’s services on the Avera campus, which saw significant progress in construction this year.

As for developments that are finished with construction in the city, Cherapa Place downtown saw more of its spaces being filled. Both Cafe Breadico and Rivage Oak Kitchen opened at the development in September and Pomegranate Market joined the downtown community two months later.
