SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The 30th annual Heroes Behind the Badges blood drive wrapped up on Saturday, with more than 1,263 people donating blood.
The blood drive ran from December 22 to January 3, and the amount of donations are estimated to save up to 3,789 local lives.
The Community Blood Bank (CBB) said in a news release that the results of the friendly competition are in, and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue celebrated the victory with 640 donation votes.
