Larchwood, Iowa — A Sioux City man has been arrested on drug and child endangerment charges after a traffic stop near Larchwood on Friday.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the Lyon County Clerk of Court’s Office by the county sheriff’s office, 27-year-old Yoni Duenas of Sioux City is accused of driving under the influence, child endangerment, drug possession, and weapons possession. He was arrested on Friday.
In his statement, the deputy says that while conducting the traffic stop, the odor of marijuana was detected, and a subsequent probable-cause search was conducted. During the search, marijuana, a loaded firearm, drug paraphernalia, and methamphetamine were seized. He says Duenas admitted to having the firearm and narcotics in the vehicle.
