Gov. Rhoden proposes bill to fund airport expansions in Rapid City, Sioux Falls

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Gov. Larry Rhoden has introduced legislation aimed at expanding South Dakota’s two largest airports.

Rhoden announced Thursday that he pre-filed Senate Bill 76, which would provide zero percent interest loans of up to $15 million each for the Sioux Falls Regional Airport and Rapid City Regional Airport.

“South Dakota continues to grow, and we need infrastructure that can grow with us,” Rhoden said in a statement. “By supporting these airport expansions, we are strengthening our economy, improving connectivity and keeping South Dakota Open for Opportunity.”…
