USF hosts 240 future teachers for education event

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — On Monday, the University of Sioux Falls will host 240 students from across the state who are interested in becoming teachers.

The event is through Educator’s Rising, an organization that helps students learn about what it means to be a teacher and build their skills before pursuing a degree in education.

The students, from 25 schools across the state, will be practicing for the upcoming state and national conferences this year. They will compete in a variety of areas, including job interviews, teaching creative materials, lesson planning, children’s literature and ethical dilemmas…
