Sioux Falls, South Dakota — Strong winds, elevated fire danger, and a sharp drop in temperatures are expected to impact southeast South Dakota and nearby areas from Thursday afternoon into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, winds will strengthen behind a passing cold front this afternoon. A Wind Advisory is in effect from noon to midnight Thursday for most areas west of the James River, where wind gusts up to 55 miles per hour are expected.
