SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The clock is ticking for someone to claim a half-million-dollar lottery ticket sold at a Sioux Falls convenience store. In South Dakota, all lotto prizes must be claimed within 180 days. Now the person who bought the ticket has only six days left or they can kiss their money goodbye. The winning player has until Feb. 23, 2026, to claim the prize.

The Powerball ticket was purchased here at Hyvee Gas near Marion and 26th Street on the west side of Sioux Falls. The player matched all five numbers but missed the powerball. It’s a double play, so it pays half a million dollars. We stopped by the convenience store today to talk with people.
“I would be going through purses, wallets, cars, I mean, it expires Monday,” said Dawn Hayes of Sioux City. “It’s half a million dollars, go through everything, why wouldn’t you?” said Dawn Hayes
