CROOKS, S.D. (KELO) – When Smithfield moves to its new location in Northwest Sioux Falls, it’ll be right along County Highway 130, which separates Sioux Falls from Crooks.
How Erickson, Zokaites see Smithfield’s relocation
Crooks Mayor F. Butch Oseby says he had no idea the plan was for Smithfield to move into the area when the Sioux Falls Development Foundation started buying up land along County Highway 130. However, he says Crooks will see some benefits from the move.
“Our sales tax is going to increase in the future here by 100 grand a year, which will really help us keep up our amenities,” Oseby said.
