Police investigating a crash at 10th St. and I-229

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Police have made an arrest after investigating a crash at the intersection of 10th Street and Interstate 229 on Monday morning.

According to the Sioux Falls Police Department, around 7 a.m. Monday, a scooter was traveling eastbound on 10th St. on the north side of the street and crossed a crosswalk of I-229 northbound entrance when it was struck by an Acura SUV that was entering I-229 northbound.

SFPD Sgt. Travis Olsen said police arrested 45-year-old Phillip Krejci, of Sioux Falls. Krejci faces charges of felony hit and run, driving without a license and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

There were two people on the scooter, both suffered injuries and were treated at the area hospital. Olsen said the driver of the scooter, a 56-year-old man, is facing life-threatening injuries, while a 45-year-old woman passenger had non-life threatening injures…
