Name released in fatal Minnehaha County crash

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The South Dakota Department of Public Safety has released the name of an Aberdeen man who died in a two-vehicle crash on I-29 on Thursday, March 12.

James Knapp, 56, of Aberdeen, was traveling south on Interstate 29 near mile marker 88. Knapp had come to a complete stop in the driving lane and was struck from behind by an oncoming Peterbilt semi.

Knapp’s vehicle came to rest in the west ditch, and Knapp died from his injuries…
