Thune takes to senate floor to highlight positive feedback from South Dakota business leaders on recently passed tax law

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) -Senate Majority Leader John Thune recently took to the Senate floor to highlight positive feedback on the Big Beautiful Bill from South Dakota business leaders.

The Majority Leader took to the senate floor late last month to highlight testimony he received from a roundtable he attended in Sioux Falls. Thune pointed to comments from a wide range of businesses including from Agtegra Cooperative CEO Paul Forst who spoke on a small business tax deduction in which the big beautiful bill made permanent. The policy many small business operators to deduct up to 20 percent of their qualified business income from their federal income taxes.

“He said his cooperative has opted to pass more than $100 million in 199A benefits directly to South Dakota farmers since the deduction was created in 2017.And the farmers have invested that savings into equipment, infrastructure, and jobs,” said Thune…
