SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – A mountain lion was spotted near downtown Sioux Falls early Wednesday morning.

A photo sent to KELOLAND News via uShare shows the large cat walking along a railroad bridge around 4:30 a.m. just north of 14th St.
GFP Regional Terrestrial Resources Supervisor Julie Lindstrom confirmed the sighting Wednesday afternoon. Wildlife specialists were at the scene along with Lindstrom. She says it’s important to give the animal space if you happen to see it.

Lindstrom confirmed that there is only one mountain lion.
Home security cameras also captured images of the animal roaming around Sioux Falls.
