The Black Hawk Volunteer Fire Department says firefighters arrived to find a single-story home on fire, with flames spreading into the roof and nearby trees and homes around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday. Crews were able to quickly contain the fire.

The Douglas School District is set to expand with a new Elementary School in the near future. This is part of the efforts to prepare for the arrival of the B-21 Raider at Elsworth Air Force Base in the coming years.
