SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – There are many restaurants, both in downtown Sioux Falls and the city as a whole, but from rising grocery costs to extreme weather and other issues, there have been some challenges when it comes to bringing food from the farm to the table, which is why people gathered on Tuesday for a roundtable to discuss their thoughts and find solutions.
According to the NOAA, South Dakota has been affected by 36 weather disaster events with losses exceeding $1 billion each since 1980.
“A lot of funding for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration was cut as part of the one big, beautiful bill last summer, so it’s becoming harder and harder to know and predict what’s going to happen,” said Anne McBride, VP of Impact at the James Beard Foundation…
