SFPD share missing person post guidelines

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — On Thursday, the Sioux Falls Police Department explained the criteria for what gets posted during a missing person’s case

In the police briefing, Sioux Falls Police Sgt. Aaron Benson wants the public to be aware that the SFPD provides information on the Sioux Falls Police Department’s social media: Facebook and X. When the SFPD posts about a missing persons case on social media, it involves situations that have circumstances, concerns, or a call for some quick information that are provided to the public or media so that can be shared and to get results quickly.

Benson shared that these circumstances can involve different ages, whether it is a young or an elderly person, medical concerns, special needs, weather conditions, and anything that can danger someone’s welfare.
