Abbott House rebrands, expands youth services

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The Abbott House is marking a new chapter in its mission to support South Dakota youth with a name change and fundraising campaign.

The youth foster care and residential treatment agency changed its name to Abbott House Youth Services and launched a $3 million campaign to increase care across the state.

“For many, many years, it was only in Mitchell, and I think a lot of people thought of Abbott House as that one building,” executive director Eric Klooz said. “As we expanded to Sioux Falls and Rapid City, the board wanted people to be aware that we provide a lot of different services across the state.”

The Building Bridges to a Brighter Future campaign will help build two more intensive foster homes and four double occupancy independent living apartments in Sioux Falls. It marks the seventh project tied to Abbott House’s foster care program…
