SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Absentee ballots are still not available in South Dakota. The kick-off for absentee voting was supposed to be on Friday last week. Some auditors blame the delay on the last petition day falling on the 31st of March, plus a holiday shortly after.
The statewide ballot delay has left the Minnehaha County Auditor with little left to do to prepare for the election.
“We’re just waiting,” said Leah Anderson, Minnehaha County Auditor. “I don’t really have any other answers. We can print sample ballots for people if they would like to come in and get their sample ballots.”…
