License plate readers help locate 3 stolen vehicles

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Traffic cameras and license plate readers helped Sioux Falls Police locate three stolen vehicles, leading to the arrest of four people on parole.

The first stolen vehicle was found on Saturday around 7 a.m. on Saturday. An officer received a notification from a license plate reader (LPR) of a stolen vehicle that was traveling northbound on Minnesota Avenue near 41st Street. An SFPD officer and a Minnehaha County Deputy initiated the traffic stop near 8th Street and Minnesota Avenue.
