SD woman hears life again after cochlear implants

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Tammy Snyder was in her 40s by the time she noticed she had hearing loss.

“With my husband, I always would sit, and we’d talk and stuff, and I tell him, quit mumbling,” Snyder said.

Snyder’s family has a history of genetic hearing loss, starting with her father. She carries a photo of her grandmother who used an ear horn for hearing assistance.

“He (her father) was deaf when he died. His mom was deaf when she died. Her mom was deaf when she died. Just on down the line,” she said…
