KELOLAND race fans feeling the loss of NASCAR Champion

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Fellow drivers call him a fierce competitor. And tonight, members of the racing community in KELOLAND are mourning the loss of NASCAR driver Kyle Busch, who died Thursday at age 41.

Busch was a two-time Cup Series champion who won more races than anyone across NASCAR’s three national series. Jay Masur, a driver for the Med-Star Dirt Track Rescue Team, has been involved in racing for half a century and travels the country advising and teaching race track safety and rescue. He says Busch leaves a hole in the racing community.

“We all in the racing community, whether in the race rescue, the driving or in the pits or party of the fans in the stands, you know we all love racing and when something in the race community happens such as this tragedy it affects everybody in different ways, whether you knew him personally or not it affects you because its part of a legacy that’s no longer here,” said Masur…
