GREEN BLUFF, Wash. — A Green Bluff tradition since 1978, the Cherry Pickers Trot, is returning July 16.
The Cherry Pickers Trot was created by a Green Bluff resident in 1978, who wanted to create a community fun run through the orchards. With the help of two runners, Don Kardong and Rick Riley, the resident, Brenda McGlade, was able to create a tradition that has lasted 40 years.
The four-mile run, or trot, takes participants through the orchard country of Green Bluff. The course is on paved roads, creating a family, walker and stroller-friendly experience. However, dogs are not allowed to join the race…
