SPOKANE, Wash. — Following a year of growing excitement and momentum as Hillyard enters its second year as a Washington State Creative District, the Hillyard Creative District will host the 115th annual Hillyard Hi-Jinx Parade & Festival this summer.
For more than a century, Hi-Jinx has brought the Hillyard neighborhood together through creativity, humor, community pride and a little bit of chaos. What began as a neighborhood celebration has become one of Spokane’s most recognizable community traditions, filling Market Street each summer with floats, music, costumes, vintage cars, local businesses and families from across the region.
This year, organizers are issuing a community-wide invitation for businesses, schools, nonprofits, car clubs, sports teams, artists, neighborhood groups, churches and families to enter the parade and showcase their creativity…
