When you think of foods quintessential to the Inland Northwest, there’s probably a few that come to mind: foraged native plants and fungi, pine wood-smoked meats and even farm-fresh produce.
The Davenport Grand’s revamped lobby restaurant, now named Lilac & Pine, offers all that and more with a menu giving visitors and locals alike a true taste of the region. Situated in what was formerly Table 13 inside the hotel at 333 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., the new concept soft opened in mid May and held its official ribbon cutting ceremony on June 4.
“Table 13 was a hotel restaurant, and we want to be a restaurant that happens to be in the hotel,” says Rudy Velasquez, the Grand’s executive chef. “What I mean by that is we want to capture the community and be bigger than just a hotel restaurant.”…
