City of Spokane warns federal HUD cuts could hit homeless housing programs

SPOKANE, Wash. — City leaders warned that a proposed federal funding cut could affect local homeless housing programs and the services tied to them.

The city said HUD funding for the Continuum of Care was being reduced by $3 million. Local officials said that would amount to a 50-percent cut to permanent housing programs in Spokane.
