2,000 acre Chelan Hills Fire near Orondo prompts evacuations

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash. – State fire resources have been mobilized to help battle a growing 2000-acre fire near Orondo and Chelan Falls.

The fire, named the Chelan Hills Fire, started around 12:05 a.m. on Saturday and is threatening public safety, homes and infrastructure, according to a Saturday morning update from Washington State Patrol.

An early update from Washington State Patrol at 6:30 a.m. said the fire was 400 acres large. Hours later, however, an update from WildCAD-E at 10:00 a.m. reported it at 2000 acres…
