Cheney rodeo returns for 58th year with classic events and summer traditions

CHENEY, Wash. — The Cheney Rodeo is back tonight, bringing nearly six decades of Western tradition and summer excitement to the region. The 58th annual event kicks off tonight at the Bi-Mart Arena.

The rodeo features classic events that have drawn crowds year after year: bull riding, bareback riding, barrel racing, and more. For many people in the community, attending the rodeo has become a beloved summer tradition.

“The atmosphere is wild, the atmosphere is just crazy,” said Al Parsons, who has announced the Cheney Rodeo for the last 17 years. “When we talk about the ones in the grandstands having a good time, we are not kidding.”…
