Lithium-ion battery sparks shop fire in Otis Orchards

UPDATE: July 19 at 8:35 p.m.

The fire is believed to have started from a lithium-ion battery pack, the same type found in power tools, e-bikes and other rechargeable devices, Spokane Valley Fire Department said in a release.

If a battery shows signs of damage, overheating, or swelling, the department asks that people stop using it and follow the manufacturer’s disposal guidance…
