Elderly Alzheimer’s Sufferer Found Deceased North of Spokane

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and search crews report they located an elderly woman who had apparently wandered away from her home.

Search Had Been on Since July 14th

Spokane County is awaiting further Coroner’s tests and reports but the SCSO says a body found south of Bear Lake is most likely that of a missing 74-year-old woman.

July  14th. the SCSO was alerted by family members that Lynn M. Chamberlain was missing. The previous evening, around 6:30 PM, she’d left her home in Deer Park north of Spokane, to go for a walk and did not return.

Drones and Other Search Methods Employed

The SCSO says for several days, the search was unsucessful, they were especially concerned because Chamberlain suffered from Alzheimers, and they feared she might have forgotten how to get home.

Finally, on July 18th, searchers located a body matcher her description, found in an undeveloped wooded area south of Bear Lake, which is east and slightly south of Deer Park.  According to maps, it appears Chamberlain traveled a minimum of 8-10 miles at least.  It could have been slightly more, concerning where her body was found…
