SPOKANE, Wash. — Avista said that contract crews will start removing fire-damaged trees and vegetation near utility equipment in the Spokane area beginning Saturday.
The company said that the work is meant to reduce risks near power lines and help make wildfire-affected areas safer as recovery continues. Avista reported that damaged trees can become unstable with time even if they still look healthy.
