Charges dismissed after suspect in deadly Spokane hit-and-run case dies

SPOKANE, Wash. – All charges have been dismissed against 78-year-old John Bligh, who was arrested for striking and killing a pedestrian with his car on September 1 in Spokane, after officials reported that Bligh died, according to court documents.

Spokane County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Joseph Edwards filed the motion for an order to dismiss the charges on Tuesday, September 8.

“The defendant is now deceased; therefore, it is respectfully requested that the above-named matter be dismissed,” court documents said…
