Court rules on ex-Pasco cop’s murder conviction and 30-year-old DNA evidence

A former Pasco police officer will stay in prison after he failed to convince an appeals court that he was wrongly convicted of premeditated murder.

The Washington State Court of Appeals, Division III, rejected several arguments by Richard J. Aguirre’s attorney, who argued that key DNA evidence shouldn’t have been allowed at his trial.
