SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Public Library is inviting residents to bring their old, unused electronics to its first-ever Electronics Recycle & Backupevent.
The event is a partnership with PCs for People, and experts will be on hand to teach people how to back up files, how to save files to the cloud or an external storage device, and how to properly wipe personal information from a device.
This event will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at each of these locations:
- Wednesday, September 16, Shadle Park Library in the Studio
- Thursday, September 17, Indian Trail Library in the Events room
- Friday, September 18, South Hill Library in the Events room
“We often hear that people are at a loss for what to do with old, unused electronics,” says Colin Stuart, Community Technology Coordinator at Spokane Public Library. “They can’t be disposed of in the landfill and many people hope they could be used by someone else but worry about personal information that might be on the device. This event will help people get rid of unused electronics, give them piece of mind that data is deleted, and help get the refurbished electronics to people who need them.”…
