YAKIMA, WASH. — Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson announced Monday that the state has submitted a request for a federal major disaster declaration to assist homeowners impacted by recent wildfires.
Speaking at a press conference in Spokane City Hall, Ferguson outlined the state’s efforts to secure federal funding for recovery. Robert Ezelle, director of the Washington Emergency Management Division, reported that wildfire damage costs total $117 million for private property removal and emergency protective work.
