Starbucks is closing five Washington stores and cutting 51 jobs starting November 14

Starbucks told Washington state on October 7 that it is closing five coffeehouses and ending the jobs of 51 employees, with separations running from November 14 through December 4. The notice, sent to the state Employment Security Department, covers stores in Redmond, Seattle, Spokane and Vancouver, plus eight positions at the company’s Seattle headquarters. Starbucks says the terminations are permanent. The filing puts local detail on the closure round the company announced on September 24, a plan that reaches about 250 coffeehouses across North America.

Which Washington Starbucks stores are closing

Five stores are on the list. Redmond Retail, at 7625 170th Ave. NE in Redmond, loses 15 employees, the most of any site. The Wellesley and Belt store at 2401 W. Wellesley Ave. in Spokane loses 13. Two Seattle stores are closing, Leary Way and 11th Avenue NW at 999 Leary Way NW with 6 employees and Rainier Avenue at 9150 Rainier Ave. S with 5. The 164th and Mill Plain store at 918 S.E. 164th Ave. in Vancouver has 4. Those store totals add up to 43 workers, and separations at all five sites fall between November 14 and December 4.
