Shelter-in-place order lifted at Fairchild Air Force Base

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — A shelter-in-place order was issued around the main gate at Fairchild Air Force Base Friday morning.

According to Fairchild AFB, emergency personnel responded to the main gate for a random vehicle inspection that required further security.

The order was lifted a couple hours later.

The shelter-in-place order was for 1,000 feet around the incident which included Lilac Housing and a childcare center.

Fairchild says the incident has been resolved. No other details were provided.
