SPOKANE, Wash. — A 23-year-old suspect was taken into custody following a SWAT standoff and hostage situation in north Spokane.
Police say a woman called around 12 P.M. Wednesday about an estranged male who had threatened her and held two children, under the age of five, hostage.
The standoff concluded shortly after 4 P.M. once police breached the home and secured both children safely. No injuries were reported.
Officials say the situation was contained to just one house.
The blocked areas including the corner of Nevada and Everett are reopened.
