POST FALLS, Idaho – A Post Falls man with a “lengthy criminal history” was sentenced after attempting to strangle his partner in 2023. Elton Joe Roberts, 46, has nearly two dozen convictions over 30 years, including, “petit theft, resisting officers, possession of controlled substances, battery, domestic battery, lewd conduct with a minor under sixteen, failing to register as a sex offender, disturbing the peace, bail jumping, and many, many probation violations,” according to Prosecuting attorney Stanley Mortensen.
