SPOKANE, Wash. – Police swarmed the parking lot this morning as one student was stabbed during an altercation involving four female students in the girl’s bathroom at Shadle Park High School.
Kathryn Bridges, the student’s mom, told 4 News Now that her daughter was in the bathroom defending her friend who was getting bullied at school.
Bridges says that’s when her daughter got in a fight and when she was stabbed in the chest and cut on the arm.
“She lifted up her shirt and the blood was gushing out. She started screaming, I was stabbed” said Bridges
“They told me that she was stable. And need to get a CAT scanner under her chest because she has been stabbed directly into her chest and possibly into her heart”
According to SPD and SPS, one other student was injured in a fight leading up to the incident, but was not hospitalized.
“Let’s keep these kids safe. I don’t want anybody else’s child to ever be stabbed. I don’t want them to ever fear walking into those doors. They need education not stitches” said Bridges
