MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. — It was an emotional week for a family in Medical Lake.
A father went into cardiac arrest as he was driving, causing him to crash and die just a few days later.
On Saturday, his family shared a story of his struggle with a medical condition, wanting to spread a message for others.
“He was a kind soul,” Pawley Coffman, father-in-law of Jesse Dahm, said. “There was nothing he wouldn’t do for the family.”
It was another normal day of the week until Coffman got an unexpected call from his daughter that his son in law was in the hospital.
Last Friday, the family says Jesse suffered from a cardiac arrest while driving back home.
His car went off the road in front of Medical Lake Middle School, and after days in a coma, Jesse’s family had to let him go forever.
“The hardest part was telling my daughter that it was over, that we had to go,” Coffman said.
Jesse was a father of three and worked at a local auto body shop.
Jesse was always willing to help others.
“If you needed him, even if my daughter would say, “Don’t you want to go over there right now?’ Jesse will be like ‘I gotta go to your brothers.'” Coffman said. “He would come over.”
