Lunar New Year Celebration returning to Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane’s Lunar New Year Celebration is returning to the Lilac City once again.

Spokane’s United We Stand is hosting the celebration welcoming the Year of the Dragon on Saturday, February 24, at the Spokane Convention Center.

Festivities will start at 1 p.m. at Exhibit Hall A in the Spokane Convention Center.

The celebration will have cultural performances, Lion and Dragon dances, the Third Prince, Money Gods & Goddesses, children’s craft stations, cultural exhibits, interactive displays, a photobooth and food & tea sampling.

There will also be 5,000 red envelopes with over $20,000 in gift cards from local businesses that will be distributed, which embodies good luck and prosperity for the new year.

Over 100 vendors will host this event, and the first 500 people at the celebration will get a swag bag with New Year treats.

The Lunar New Year Celebration is free and open to the public.
