Two people injured in crash on a mini-bike in Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Two people were injured riding a mini-bike in Spokane Valley and taken to the hospital Monday afternoon.

Spokane Valley police responded to E. Sprague Avenue and University Road for the incident around 2 p.m.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office says a car was heading north on University just south of Sprague when it tried to turn west into the Rosauers/Taco Bell parking lot. The sheriff’s office says the car hit a mini-bike carrying two people.

Both riders went down and were taken to the hospital. Spokane Valley Fire says they suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The sheriff’s office says the driver of the mini bike and car both received tickets. The driver of the mini bike got a ticket for an unlicensed vehicle and operating inside a bike lane, and the driver of the car got a ticket for “failure to yield.”
