Woman killed in suspected DUI crash in Spokane identified

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane County Medical Examiner has identified the woman hit and killed by a vehicle in northeast Spokane Saturday night.

According to the Medical Examiner, 35-year-old Mindy Wilson was crossing E. Empire Avenue at N. Morton Street around 7 p.m. when she was struck by two vehicles and died at the scene.

Pedestrian killed by vehicle, driver arrested for DUI in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. — A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle Saturday night in Spokane. The driver was arrested for vehicular homicide.

The Medical Examiner says Wilson died of blunt force injuries and the manner of her death was an accident.

According to Spokane Police, one of the drivers that hit her, 70-year-old Gary Thompson, was suspected of being under the influence and arrested for vehicular homicide.

According to the Affidavit of Facts filed in Spokane Superior Court Thompson told law enforcement he was heading home from the Black Diamond Bar and Grill. The documents say Thompson told law enforcement that he split pitchers of beer with 2-3 others and drank “several drinks” before driving.
