Two Spokane County people indicted for Covid-19 relief fraud

SPOKANE, Wash. — The U.S. Attorney’s Office says two Spokane County residents face 50 years in prison collectively for fraud related to Covid-19 relief funding.

According to U.S. Attorney Vanessa Waldref, 54-year-old Antonio Feliciano Crawford of Mead was indicted on 30 counts of wire fraud, bank fraud, and false claims related to applications for Covid business relief.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office alleges Crawford fraudulently received at least $186,000 for four businesses owned and operated by him.

Waldref says 59-year-old Cheryl Oberg of Spokane is accused of being a part of a fraud scheme and conspiracy receiving $150,000 using an application for a Mississippi-based business she had no connection to.

Oberg is accused of using the money to pay off a personal car loan.

Crawford faces a maximum of 30 years in prison and Oberg faces 20.
