It’s not too late: Committee leaders encourage people to vote in Special Election

SPOKANE, Wash. – There are several school district levies and bonds on the ballot this week and committee leaders are using last minute efforts to encourage people to cast their vote.

Many ballot measures can increase taxes, which is why local leaders are urging every voter to submit their ballot before Tuesday’s cut-off to make your vote count.

Zachary Zorrozua is the chair of committee for support of good schools. He says he and his team are hoping for more voter turn-out in their Medical Lake community.

Zorrozua said less than a quarter of those registered have turned in their ballots so far.

“Fill it out and then, you know, put it in your car. Because here’s the deal. If you leave it on your counter, you’re going to forget it. So put it in your car. We’re going to see it. And then on your way to work Monday, swing by the library, put it in your mailbox, get it in,” Zorrozua said.

As part of a final push to encourage voters to turn in their ballots, registered voters can expect an influx of texts, calls, and social media posts as reminders.
