Hamilton Street near Gonzaga reopens following police chase

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department has reopened Hamilton Street at East Springfield following a police chase.

Spokane Police Department was seen chasing a vehicle near the campus.

Police say the chase started over what might have been stolen property. Police say an individual who decided to follow four people in a car, who said he stole something of his. Shots were then fired from the car with four people, which led to the police pursuit.

Police say they took all four people out of the car for interviewing. Police say one woman in the car had a serious head injury, and police say they believe it was a gunshot wound. The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police say officers did not fire their guns, and shots were fired only from the car with the four people inside.
