Body of missing man found in Lake Roosevelt after weeklong search

STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — Rescue crews have recovered the body of Eric Jensen, the 51-year-old man who has been missing for a week now.

Lake Roosevelt National Park Service says he was pulled from the lake early Friday afternoon.

Jensen went missing after launching his fishing boat in Lake Roosevelt from the Bradbury Boat Launch, about two hours away from Spokane near Kettle Falls.

Jensen is very well-known in the Freeman community. Jensen spoke with 4 News Now in 2018 after his daughter was hurt in the Freeman School shooting, sharing his gratitude for the emergency crews who treated his daughter.

Jensen was a very devoted father to his three girls.

There are still many unanswered questions surrounding his disappearance.

Here is what we do know:

Jensen launched his boat from the boat launch last Friday at 9:30 a.m. Early Saturday morning, the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office found his boat empty downstream.

4 News Now learned on Friday that since his disappearance, friends and community members had been conducting their own searches at Lake Roosevelt, alongside emergency crews trying to find Jensen.
