Body located in Spokane River at Riverfront Park

SPOKANE, Wash – Law enforcement officers pulled a body from the Spokane River in Riverfront Park Thursday while investigating a separate case.

According to Spokane Police, Avista lowered the water level near the carousel Thursday morning while law enforcement searched for evidence related to the bear mace robbery in March.

SPD says while searching the area, a dive team discovered a body in the water.

The body was pulled from the water around noon. The identity of the body will be released at a later time. SPD notes this is not related to the crash near Upriver Drive this morning.
