Hiker with broken leg rescued near Deadman Peak

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Wash. – A hiker was rescued from a remote area near Deadman Peak after he broke his leg. The Spokane Regional Air Support Unit (SRASU) received a request from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office around 2:30 p.m. on June 24. SRASU said a 33-year-old hiker had injured his leg, and because of the terrain, they could not get an ATV to the hiker’s location.
