Burglars cause $15k damage during copper theft of vacant home

SPOKANE, Wash. — Three suspects were caught stealing copper pipe and wiring from a vacant home east of the Spokane International Airport, according to Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).

According to SCSO, 53-year-old Lynn J. Knuttgen, 35-year-old Aaron S. Radnor, and 44-year-old Felipe E. Murillo were all arrested Wednesday,

Around 10 a.m., SCSO responded to three unknown suspects entering a vacant building on Assembly Road, south of Garden Springs.

According to SCSO, deputies observed holes cut in the drywall, exposing the removal of electrical wiring and pipe.

SCSO also located reciprocating saw blades, a cordless power drill, and a garbage can containing sections of copper pipe.

Knuttgen, Radnor, and Murillo were transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for second degree burglary, first degree malicious mischief, and third degree theft.

Damage caused by the burglars was estimated to be over $15,000.
